The Dollar Store Helps Me Save Money
Today, I want to share with you one way of how I save a lot of money.
I’m very frugal, but sometimes even I spend more money than I should because I’m avoiding certain things, like inquiring about cheaper car insurance, or I’m not organized and return library books too late.
Lack of organization can certainly cost you money.
My tip for all of you who struggle with being frugal and organized: hit the dollar store!
Dollar stores have many items that help you get more organized — like calendars, notebooks, folders, envelopes, and markers — and stocking up on staples like papergoods will save you money plus free up precious time to get other things accomplished in your household.
I also go to the dollar store for items like gift wrapping supplies, gift cards, socks, cleaning supplies, frames, little gifts, etc.
I stock up on many items that I would never get for just a dollar in other stores and get gifts like vases, candles, or frames so I always have something in the house in a pinch.
Dollar stores are a great resource when you need a little gift for kid’s birthday parties.
I found the cutest kid’s watches there as one of the thank-you gifts for all the kids that came to my son’s birthday party — they would have probably retailed for $10+ and were a hit!
I also got stickers and other little items there for the goodie bags. And I bought enough watches for the next few parties my son is invited to.
The inventory of dollar stores changes all the time, so you can usually find something new every time you go.
I have bought art supplies and puzzles for Landon there, iPod cases, beautiful silk pillow covers, and many seasonal items for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
How can you go wrong with 10 Christmas cards for only a buck?
I do stay away from the plastic toys made in China, but you can find many brand items there you are used to seeing in other stores.
Why not buy them for less?
