We have a tiny laundry room — well, it’s literally a “laundry closet.” It’s those two doors to the right on the way to the kitchen.
Sure, I’d love to have a laundry room, but for some code reason we were not allowed to have the washer and dryer in the utility room — so a laundry closet it is.
Gosh, so much going on. I really need this year to slow the heck down.
We knew a snow storm was coming, so I had to change plans yesterday and drive to my booth at the Newburgh Vintage Emporium to drop off more vintage treasures.
I raced back to make a conference call that then didn’t happen, and it goes from there.
I have spent hours on the phone with our darn health insurance again this week, school was canceled, L is playing Titanic in the bathtub, the living room is full of Christmas decor for a tablescape I want to style and photograph, and I have about five other posts to write.
I ate left-over cheese cake for breakfast this morning. That’s how crazy things are.

After I wrote about Landon’s turquoise room, our kitchen and our powder room, it’s time to show you our living room.
You’ve seen parts of it in several posts, but I’ve never written a post about the whole room.
We have a little powder room next to our kitchen, and I wanted to share what it looks like right now. I don’t think I’ve ever shown you the whole room before!
Don added wainscoting to it per my request, and I painted it a super-light pink.
The whole room is decorated with inexpensive items. The sink cabinet and vintage-inspired faucet are from Lowes, and I just exchanged the knobs to vintage glass knobs. I also bought the floor tiles at Lowes, and Don put them down in both bathrooms.
The mirror is an antique store find, and I bought that little white shelf three years ago for $3 at a tag sale. I want to repaint it with white chalk paint eventually — the off-white doesn’t really work in this room.

I’m finally getting around to showing you our farmhouse kitchen! I’m still not finished with decorating it, but is any room ever finished?
The fun part of decorating is that you always get to add or change something over time. This is what our farmhouse kitchen looks like right now.
Our kitchen is in the back of the house, and we have these three big windows in the kitchen that overlook the backyard.
