Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek
Orlando’s newest family resort, the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, invited us to visit for a few days, and we were happy to oblige!
So we packed our suitcases with summer clothes and flew from cold Westchester, NY, to Orlando. After less than three hours we landed, and sunshine and warm weather were greeting us.
The Wyndham Grand is a lovely 400-rooms, Mediterranean-inspired resort hotel that’s located lakeside 20 minutes away from the airport. The guest rooms and suites overlook the property’s 10-acre lake and Walt Disney World parks. Everything is brand new because the resort just opened in October.
Checking in was a breeze, Landon got a goodie bag, and off we went to check out our room. This was our first family vacation to a fabulous hotel, so L was very excited.
On the 8th floor, we had the perfect view of the stunning lagoon-like pool.
Landon had his own bunk bed — with a TV! The kid-size sink near the bunk beds made getting ready in the morning a lot easier.
Each room is appointed with contemporary furniture, flat-panel televisions, black granite surfaces, and True Blue® Spa Bath & Body Works® items. Six people could have stayed in our room — this was a sofa bed.
Before we went to dinner, we checked out the game room.
The Tesoro Cove is just one of the three signature restaurants on the property — there are also two full bars.
Dinner was relaxing for Don and me because of the little play area for kids. We also had breakfast there the next morning, before catching the free shuttle the hotel offers to Disney World.
There weren’t a lot of visitors in the hotel while we were there, and the service was always fast and friendly.
After dinner, L had a ton of fun in the zero-entry pool with Don — until 10:40 PM!
I took more pictures the next day. This was our view. We were able to see the nightly Disney World fireworks from our room.
As you can see, the decor is hip and sophisticated, with a modern flair.
A coffee bar serving Starbucks? I was in heaven. We grabbed breakfast there on our second day before heading to SeaWorld.

The full-service spa, Blue Harmony, with outdoor treatment rooms was offering all kinds of treatments for $99, and when we checked in I got coupons for some additional freebies.
But our days were so filled with Disney World and SeaWorld, I didn’t get to enjoy that. Next time!
The Kids Club offers fun activities for the kids (starting at 5 years old) throughout the day and evening. There is a fee, but if you want to have a romantic night without the kids, the resort offered two hours of free kids club participation while you eat in the sea food restaurant.
Next to the big pool is another pool that features two ships, one with a water slide. This is a dream for any boy who is into pirates.
After the third night, L woke up saying, “We have to tell the lady downstairs that we can’t leave yet.”
Honestly, since we all had nothing pressing going on back in Westchester, I was tempted to ask them if they would let us stay one more day so we could enjoy just the resort. But it would have gotten really costly to change our flights.
This fun family trip went by way too fast. We had a wonderful time and are already talking about returning to the Wyndham Grand Orlando.
The fact that we can fly directly from Westchester to Orlando makes this a very attractive vacation destination.
Next time we’ll make sure to reserve one whole day to just enjoy the resort and all the amazing things it offers.
There is a gift store, a room with a pool table, a golf course, and much more to explore. It also would have been fun to have dinner outside, overlooking the pool and lake.
With over 25,000 square feet of meeting space, the Grand is also able to host groups of just about any size.
If you are considering a stay in Orlando, near all the Disney parks and Sea World, I definitely would recommend the Wyndham Grand Orlando, especially if you have kids. We had a blast.
{This post was sponsored by Wyndham, they paid for a 3-night stay and my flight. We paid for everything else during this trip. This is my honest opinion.}
