Yesterday, we rolled out of bed and got ready for a little weekend road trip to Mystic, CT.
After packing a few things for our one-night stay at a hotel in Mystic, we got on the road and stopped to have breakfast at one of my favorite places: The Barn at the Bedford Post Inn.
After some strong coffee and yummy food, we drove two hours to Mystic, CT. Don had taken L to the Mystic Aquarium before, but I had never been there, so L was exited to show me around.
Mystic Aquarium Titanic Exhibit
First stop: the Titanic exhibit. It’s a room full of fun for little Titanic lovers like L:
This is L and me in front of the iceberg.
And then we moved on to see the rest of the Mystic Aquarium.
Does this look like a lot of fun? It was.
After a few hours at the aquarium, we walked around the quaint town of Mystic, saw the famous Mystic pizza, and had dinner at a lovely seafood restaurant.
Check out the Titanic and the iceberg.
We bought some books at the local independent book store and saw the drawbridge go up. That was pretty exciting for L, but even better was that it went up because a sailboat with “pirates” passed by, and they even shot a cannon!
After checking into a hotel for one night, L and Don spent an hour in the hotel pool, and then we all fell into bed, tired and happy.
Today we have another fun day planned — check back for that post!
Have you ever been to Mystic, CT? How did you like it and what was your favorite things to do or see?
