A few weeks ago I showed you Don’s new office nook in our bedroom.
I was so busy telling you about our fab new Sauder desk that I didn’t get to tell you about my little DIY project: the framed vintage items in the gold frames I hung on the wall.
I absolutely love vintage ephemera like postcards, number cards, bingo cards, photos, checks, and milk bottle caps.
Gallery Wall With Framed Vintage Ephemera
When I wanted to add something to the office nook wall, I looked over some of the vintage ephemera I’ve collected for a while.
I have so many that I’m thinking of selling some in my Dagmar’s Home Decor Etsy store.
The note pages were a freebie, the vintage photos I bought at the Newburgh Vintage Emporium, and the sets of vintage checks and milk bottle caps are from my trip to the Country Living Fair last year.
I can’t get enough of the charm of vintage photos.
I used one of these postcards for my repurposed glass jar candle, remember?
Aren’t these checks just beautiful? And they were written over 120 years ago, in 1891. If that isn’t something.
After I looked over all the options and the size of the little gold frames I’d been collecting, I decided to fill one frame with a vintage family photo, another one with a vintage milk bottle cap, and the last one with a page from a vintage song book.
When I hung them up, I just eyed the spacing and it’s not perfect, but in my opinion it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Instant wall art: a framed vintage milk bottle cap. It doesn’t get much easier.
These three framed vintage items added just the extra touch I wanted on this wall, and I added a few similar items to the desk decor to make it all cohesive.
One gallery wall done: I have several more to go in our Blue Cottage and can’t wait!
Do you like vintage ephemera? What do you think of our new gallery wall?
