Have you heard of the moldable glue Sugru? It was a totally new product to me until a few weeks ago, and now I’m obsessed. It’s such a helpful product — you can fix about anything with it!
This post was created in partnership with Sugru. All opinions are my own.
Where has this been all my life? How did I not know this glue existed — I’ve been a DIY blogger for over 11 years!
Sugru Glue is soft and can be molded into any shape you want for 30 minutes.
After 24 hours, it turns into strong, flexible silicone rubber.
It comes in many different colors and can be mixed to make even more colors.
Fix Anything With Sugru Moldable Glue
Sugru will flex with the materials they’re applied to, letting you even fix things that need to bend, like shoes. It works on leathers, fabrics, or flexible plastics.
Once cured, Sugru Moldable Glues are waterproof and long-lasting, just like other silicone rubbers.
This means in can be used in wet bathrooms, shower and sink areas – even outdoors with long-term exposure to the sun, wind, rain, and snow.
The possibilities to use Sugru are limitless. You wouldn’t believe how many cool DIY projects they feature on their website.
I looked around my house and saw so many different ways I want to use it:
- to fix some of my vintage treasures
- to hang a hook instead of using nails
- to fix a broken iPhone charger
- to fix a broken toy
My first DIY project I want to share with you is fixing my vintage coffee table.
As you can see, it is missing one of the “teeth” on the long side of it, and I knew I could easily fix that with Sugru.
I actually used to be a sculptor of mini figurines that I sold in a store, so I knew I could tackle this, but even someone without any sculpting talent could handle this fix.
I mixed ten little packets of white Sugru together (which was actually far too much for this job)…
…shaped them like the missing “tooth” detail…
…stuck it into the spot, molded it until I was happy with the result, and kept it in place for 24 hours.
Sugru bonded to the wood and was sticking so well, I didn’t even have to secure it with some painters tape.
The next day, Sugru had permanently fused to the table. You can hardly tell that detail was ever missing!
I’m so happy with how easy it was to fix my coffee table with Sugru.
I’m absolutely in love with this nifty glue, and it’s going to become a staple in my house for sure.
I had opened too many Sugru packets, so I quickly made this little bear with the leftovers.
