The end of the school year always comes faster than you think, doesn’t it?
And then there is Teacher Appreciation Week, which is usually in May.
As a parent, it’s always a good idea to have easy DIY teacher gift ideas ready or an idea for an easy handmade teacher gift. Here is one!
Easy DIY Teacher Gift Ideas They Will Love
Just giving cash or a gift card or another coffee mug is so boring. Teachers don’t want another mug, trust me :)
If you are looking for a super easy DIY teacher gift, I’ve got you covered.
These DIY teacher gift ideas are guaranteed to stand out among all the other gifts!
If you have time to make candles in mason jars — or really any other container — check out this post where I wrote about making DIY candles.
It’s much easier than you think to make your own, non-toxic candles, and I explain every step in my tutorial.
If that’s too intimidating, here are several other teacher gifts that are really simple to put together.

The 5 Most Awesome & Easy DIY Teacher Gift Ideas
“The Extra Mile” Gift
Anyone can put this together — and it’s so clever!
All you need are cellophane bags
and packs of Extra gum, the little note, which you can hand write, and a ribbon.
Pencils in Mason Jar Gift
I love this mason jar idea, and I don’t think you even need to include a gift card — the sentiment is so sweet and teachers often spend their own money on classroom supplies, so any teacher will appreciate this little gift.
All you need: mason jars, red and green paint or washi tape, green cardstock, and a note or gift card. Here is my step-by-step tutorial about how to make it.
If you don’t have time to paint the mason jar, simply cut out a piece of red paper, roll it up, and have it line the inside of the mason jar.
To make the top green, you could buy green washi tape and just tape around the top. Add pencils, and you’re done!
“Helping Me Grow” Gift
I bet every teacher loves to receive plants — I would — and the message of this gift is so adorable.
You could make these little planters with succulents, or simply add this note to any store-bought plant you prefer to give to the teacher.
I’d buy a plant that can be used indoors or outdoors — maybe the teacher would like to add it to her garden.
This is my version:
“I Won the Lotto” Gift
I do this for Christmas a lot: our family is huge — it’s not really possible to buy 30+ people a big gift — so I often buy lotto tickets and package them in cellophane bags with a little something else.
They are always appreciated, and you never know: there’s always a chance the ticket could win big.
All you need: lottery tickets, small 100 Grand” candy bars, cellophane bags, and chocolate coins or plastic gold coins.
Finally, if you thought the gift ideas couldn’t get any cuter, this is my favorite DIY teacher gift idea because it’s so simple but creative:
The Chill Pill Gift
I mean, who wouldn’t get a kick out of this gift? We all could use a chill pill once in a while.
I’d actually use jelly beans for this because they look more like pills.
You’ll need: mason jars or other clear containers, jelly beans or M&Ms, round or square sticker tags.
Are you planning to make your child’s teacher a little gift?
I hope these ideas show you how simple it is to make their day with an easy DIY teacher gift — you don’t have to spend a lot of money or time, or be super crafty.
