Is your little girl constantly losing her hair bows? Then this is the do-it-yourself project for you! Make her this cute DIY hair bow holder.
It’s a very easy and fast project, trust me. You could even make this with your kids.
DIY Hair Bow Holder
Time to make something special for little girls!
Hannah and Annie, my son’s little friends, let me borrow some of their hair clips and bows for this DIY project, so I made the holder for them to enjoy — since we don’t need it in our house.
As you can see, you can easily individualize the frame for your little girl.
And you could decorate the frame with all kinds of other things, even decoupage it.
Hair Bow Holder Supplies you will need:
- 1 small framed mirror or a frame
- paint marker(s)
- ribbons
- hot glue gun
- scissors
optional: buttons, beads, stickers, Modpodge glue, and/or washi tape for additional embellishment.
DIY Hair Bow Holder Tutorial:
- Start with decorating your frame with the paint marker. I found my Ikea framed mirror at a thrift store for $2, but any small mirror or frame will work for this project. Personalize the frame by adding the name of the recipient, like I did, or just an initial. You could also decide to first spraypaint the frame a different color.
- Use hot glue to glue your choice of embellishment on the frame. Let your creativity guide you! You can glue buttons on it like I did or decoupage the frame with Modpodge.
- Decide on the number and the length of the ribbons you want to use and cut them to size.
- Turn the frame over and hot glue the ribbons into place. You don’t want them too close, otherwise the bows will touch each other when they are hanging side-by-side on the holder. If the frame is very small, consider just one strand of ribbon.
What a wonderful handmade gift for a special little girl — or two — right?
That’s all – you created an adorable way to organize, and at the same time show off, your little girl’s hair bows!
