As promised, here are all the pictures I took at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY, last Friday!
Well, just a few of them, because I took about 150 pictures.
The drive up on the Taconic was beautiful again, and after an hour, I reached the fair at 11am.
And thanks to Don, who picked up Landon from the bus, I didn’t have to rush back and instead stayed until the fair closed at 5pm. Six solid hours of bliss!
My first stop every year: Cari Cucksey’s booth. You might know her from Cash and Cari. I met her three years ago, and again last year. We always tweet a bit before the fair, so she knew I was coming.
This year she greeting me with “Hey, Dagmar!” and gave me a big hug. So sweet. Here we are on Instagram.
We talked about her new paint and stain line, and I ended up buying a can of her white RePurpose CromaColor paint. I’m finally going to tackle our four living room chairs. Cari gave me a lot of painting tips, and offered to help if I have other questions.
Incidentally, the Newburg Vintage Emporium where I had my booth is the only store in the area that carries Cari’s whole line. And she sells it online and ships all over the country.
Cari also brought all kind of vintage treasures aside from furniture pieces painted with her paint, and I looked around her booth, of course.
I looked through this box of postcards and found this one! If you read my “Thrifty & Vintage Finds” link party post, you’ll know what’s so special about it.
I also bought this set of 5 silver spoons for $3.
Then it was time to walk around some more. This booth was full of fun items.
I like this simple idea of using a pie tin, a tin pot, and a cloche. Since I can make that myself, I didn’t buy it.
All of those garden signs were adorable.
I was tempted to buy this sign for our garden full of weeds :)
I did buy one of these white shredded paper nests for $3.
Across from that booth was the airstream from the ladies from 2 Chix and a Barn.
They also had a lot of lovely items I liked, especially these hardware bins. They are so expensive, though.
Isn’t this the cutest silverware idea for weddings?
What a pretty vintage scale. It sold a few minutes later. I bought those two little silver spoons.
And three sets of these vintage letters are now mine. Some of them are 100 years old! You can get a better look at them in this post.
I should’ve picked up two of these windows for our porch. I want to hang two on the sides of the porch.
This is another cute idea using a cloche, with an enamel cup.
There were succulents and green plants everywhere at the fair.
Cute idea, right?
This was one of my favorite DIY ideas from the Country Living Fair: a “chandelier” with vintage forks!
As you can probably imagine, it was really hard to not want half of what the vendors offered at the fair.
I left with dozens of DIY ideas I want to recreate in our house.
I’ll be on the lookout for enamel cups at tag sales from now on to make this “candle stick cup.”
This booth was my latest stop while the fair was closing, and I bought these “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs that are not hanging in our bathroom.
Have you ever visited a Country Living Fair? What treasure would you have brought home?
