Blue Cottage Decor: Our Powder Room
We have a little powder room next to our kitchen, and I wanted to share what it looks like right now. I don’t think I’ve ever shown you the whole room before!
Don added wainscoting to it per my request, and I painted it a super-light pink.
The whole room is decorated with inexpensive items. The sink cabinet and vintage-inspired faucet are from Lowes, and I just exchanged the knobs to vintage glass knobs. I also bought the floor tiles at Lowes, and Don put them down in both bathrooms.
The mirror is an antique store find, and I bought that little white shelf three years ago for $3 at a tag sale. I want to repaint it with white chalk paint eventually — the off-white doesn’t really work in this room.
This picture is an original, signed print, and also a tag sale score. It hung over our bed in our old place.
All of these vintage bottles, earthenware, and the tin are from tag sales and thrift stores. My mother-in-law gave me that little mirror tray for my birthday this year.
This newspaper and children’s magazine are over 100 years old and I think I bought them from my favorite vendor at the Lasdon Park Antique Show.
I forget where I bought this metal sign. If Landon would have been a girl, we would have named her Emerson — Emma — and I love this saying.
Both of our bathrooms have a sign like this on the door. They are from the Christmas Trees Store and cost only a few dollars each. I simply stuck them on the doors with Command picture hanging strips.
Voila: a little powder room filled with vintage cottage decor and thrift store finds.
