Baked Mashed Red Potatoes With Parsley Recipe

I made these baked mashed red potatoes the other day for dinner, and I wanted to share this easy and yummy recipe with y’all.

Being from Germany, I literally grew up on potatoes. My mom made boiled potatoes almost every day, and I love them and don’t ever get sick of them.

When we go out for lunch or dinner, I often just order a baked potato with sour cream. I just did today! My kind of heaven.

When I saw this picture from Allyson on Pinterest, I pinned it to my “cooking and baking board” because I was dying to make these potatoes.

My Doll Collection I Forgot About for Eight Years

This box was packed eight years ago, and moved four times — once across the country from Los Angeles to Westchester, NY, and three times in Westchester.

The “L” on it means living room, and this was the eights box of about 100 I packed into two rented PODS in Los Angeles.

Landon was six month old, and I flew with him to New York, while Don drove his truck cross country. My car and the PODS made it to Westchester a few days later, and that started our life here, close to Don’s family.

I liked living in Los Angeles for 10 years, but I haven’t missed or regretted our move for one second.

It’s crazy that I moved this box that many times — it was about time to finally open it.

What a pleasure it was to rediscover some dolls I had totally forgotten about!

Here they all are now in our Blue Cottage.

Vintage Treasures and DIY Ideas from the Country Living Fair

As promised, here are all the pictures I took at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY, last Friday!

Well, just a few of them, because I took about 150 pictures.

The drive up on the Taconic was beautiful again, and after an hour, I reached the fair at 11am.

And thanks to Don, who picked up Landon from the bus, I didn’t have to rush back and instead stayed until the fair closed at 5pm. Six solid hours of bliss!

DIY Plant Markers From Upcycled Juice Can Tops & Plastic Knives

I bought herb planting kits a few weeks ago and planted the seeds in several pots the other day, but I needed plant markers to keep track of what is growing in the pots.

I didn’t have wooden sticks I could have simply written the names on, so I was wrecking my brain about what I could make plant markers with.

You see, I keep everything I think could come in handy in the future. I keep the little twist ties from bread bags, the plastic pumps from shampoo bottles — you get the idea. I have a hard time throwing out anything I could reuse or upcycle.

I was thinking of all the things I have, the shapes and material, and then it hit me: I’ll use the orange juice can tops I’ve been hoarding!
