Learn how to boost your immune system naturally.
There is a lot you don’t have any control over with this new virus – which is why people get fearful – but boosting your body’s defenses is something you CAN and should do.
The one thing you don’t want to happen is for you to get sick in general — having to go to the hospital for anything right now would be bad.
As someone who is passionate about non-toxic living and a healthy lifestyle, and has blogged about it for years, I’m sharing what I stocked up on to stay healthy in this post.
It’s not face masks.
Buying face masks makes sense when you actually have the virus. Hand washing is still way more important to avoid it.
There is a lot you don’t have any control over with this virus, but boosting your body’s immune system is something you CAN do.
I keep mentioning the same products to stock up on in Facebook discussions, so I figured I better write a post with all of my recommendations to make things easier for you.

Boost Your Immune System Naturally To Fight A Virus
I’m personally not that afraid of the coronavirus. I’m healthy, I have a strong immune system.
I am worried for family members with compromised lung capacity.
I do understand that some people have legitimate worries because they or their kids are immune compromised or ill already, and I would never minimize their worries about catching this virus.
Let’s make sure we all stay healthy and avoid catching this virus! Stay home unless you absolutely have to go out. Shop online instead even if you don’t usually do. Now is not the time to risk getting exposed to the virus in a supermarket or other store.
I’m not a doctor, I can’t guarantee that you won’t get the coronavirus — but I want to empower you with knowledge about strengthening your immune system.
I can also give you guidance about staying away from known toxins many people still unknowingly invite into their home — compromising their immune system, which is not what we want right now.
I’ve done all the work for you and researched the best, most high-quality products to order. They are my personal favorite, and I used them for my family to stay healthy.
I keep getting asked about what I stock up on to be ready for this virus.
Here is my list of things I did stocked up on to keep myself and my son healthy to hopefully avoid ever getting the coronavirus.
I researched the best and non-toxic products, often with the help of the excellent lists you can find on the Environmental Working Group website, and then I research the best price for it on Amazon.
I have ordered every one of the products I’m mentioning in this post.
As always, discuss adding any of these products to your health regiment with your doctor, especially if you are taking medication. This is not medical advise — these are just the items that work for me to stay healthy, and I want to empower you to boost your health naturally. For more info, refer to the CDC website for information.
You can also find all of these products in my Amazon store in the Vitamin section.
Items To Stock Up On To Avoid Getting Sick
Probiotics and Apple Cider Vinegar
Okay, your health starts in your gut, so keeping your gut healthy is important. I regularly buy two items to make that happen: apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and probiotics.
Apple
I take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a bit of baking soda in a glass of water once a day.
Bragg USDA Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, With The Mother
This is the most high-quality probiotic I have found after a lot of research. My son takes this chewable every day, and I take their pill version for adults.
NOW BerryDophilus with 2 Billion, 10 Probiotic Strains, Xylitol Sweetened
NOW Probiotic-10, 100 Billion, 10 Probiotic Strains, Dairy, Soy, Gluten Free
WARNING: Xylitol has many health benefits for humans — I wrote a whole post about it — but it’s toxic for dogs (and cats?), so make sure they never have access to any products with Xylitol in it.
Elderberry Syrup and Gummies:
Caution: If you actually get the coronavirus, DO NOT take elderberry syrup. If you have an autoimmune disease, you also want to check with your doctor first.
You probably have heard about this powerhouse. Elderberry syrup has been shown to boost your immunity and people take it all winter to avoid getting sick with the flu or cold.
I stocked up and am going to keep taking it throughout the year now.
This syrup is my favorite – it’s organic and tastes like a yummy berry drink when added to a glass of water.
Gaia Herbs Black Elderberry Syrup – Daily Immune Support with Antioxidants
I also always have these elderberry gummies at home. I like that it also provides you with echinacea, zinc, and vitamin c.
My son doesn’t like those gummies, so I also bought these:
Elderberry Gummies for Adults and Kids with Echinacea, Vitamin C, Zinc, Propolis
This tea is a staple in my house, and I usually drink a cup of it in the evening.
Miracle Tree – Organic Moringa Superfood Tea, Blueberry
Moringa is a nutritionally complex whole food naturally abundant in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. When compared against other superfoods like Kale or Matcha, this is the winner! 100% vegan, gluten-free, Non-GMO and completely caffeine-free.
Multivitamin:
Taking larger doses of Vitamin C have been shown to be very beneficial for overall health and boosting your body’s defenses to beat viruses.
Here is a tip: take vitamin c throughout the day, not just one large dose. Your body will pee out most of that large dose. The easy way to get nutrition into your body is by drinking the vitamins I mention below throughout the day diluted in a glass of water.
This vitamin is a powerhouse: Celiac Friendly, Paleo Friendly, Keto Friendly & Bariatric Friendly. Non-GMO, Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free, Soy Free, NO Nightshades, NO Tomato. Vitamin B12 is the preferred Methylcobalamin.
Some studies show liquids to have a 97% absorption rate, with capsules at only three percent. Yikes! Don’t waste your money on low-quality vitamins.
This Vegan Liquid Morning Multivitamin contains: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Vitamin B5, Choline, Copper, Zinc, Chromium and more!*
Medi C Plus Lysine Berry Flavour
If this products is out of stock when you follow this link, it’s because so many people have learned that high doses of vitmanin C are very beneficial to boost your immune system. You’ll be able to find other suppliers on Amazon, just look under the product description for a product for other options.
Humans do not make Vitamin C like animals do, we need to supplement this essential vitamin to meet our daily needs. Vitamin C and Lysine work together to build collagen, which strengthens and holds together the coronary cells. A single serving provides 2000 mg Vitamin C, 210 mg magnesium, 1300 mg L-lysine.
My son is taking these vitamins right now because they offer quality folate instead of the cheaper folic acid:
MaryRuth Vegan Kids Multivitamin Gummies
Organic Ingredients – Immune Boost – Methylfolate – Sugar Free – Non-GMO Vitamin
Blend of B Vitamins, including Vitamin B6, Biotin (B7) & B9 (Methylfolate), Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), & B12 (as Methylcobalamin). B Vitamins are vital for metabolic processes, energy levels, as well as the nervous system. In addition, Iodine & Zinc are two more essential nutrients that support metabolism, immune function, healing of wounds and more.
Germ-fighting products I bought a few extra of:
CleanWell Botanical Hand Sanitizer Spray
- Alcohol free
- Kills germs botanically
- Biodegradable solution
- No Benzalkonium Chloride, no Parabens, no Triclosan
- Gentle, botanical ingredients are kid friendly
- No animal testing
I’ve used this botanical hand sanitizers for years — I always have one in my car.
This little spray is super economical (over 200 sprays) and I like it because it’s so small and fits into any purse. I bought a few more and now also have one in my purse and one at home.
Please be aware that spray can disinfectants are often toxic. I’m not telling you not to buy Lysol – I’m talking about the spray cans.
For example, LYSOL Disinfectant Spray gets a rating of F from the Environmental Working Group (EWG.org), my go-to guide whenever I buy cleaning products, sunscreen, and cosmetic products.
I encourage you to use that guide to do your own research for the best products, especially when products are out of stock now because people are stocking up on essentials. If that is the case, find out what else is a good option via EWG.org.
If you want to know what the best disinfectant spray is: these two are the only ones that got an A rating from EWG:
Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass Citrus
LYSOL Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Citrus Sparkle Zest
BUT — they seem to be out of stock, so I’m listing the next best choice here:
Windex Multi-Surface Disinfectant Cleaner
Here is a non-toxic cleaner that should be in every house because you can use it for cleaning, washing your hair, laundry and more. If I run out of any cleaner and don’t want to brave the stores for fear of catching this virus, I always know I can make any of those cleaners with this:
This is the best hand soap I found after some research:
Fit Organic Foaming Dish & Hand Soap, Free and Clear
Tea tree oil is helpful for so many uses and should be in every household. It can be used as insect repellent, antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes, it boosts wound healing, helps acne and nail fungus, and more.
It also makes an ideal natural hand sanitizer. Studies have shown that it kills several common bacteria and viruses responsible for causing illness. I do not know how it works for the coronavirus.
MAJESTIC PURE Tea Tree Oil – Pure and Natural Therapeutic Grade Tea Tree Essential Oil
Earth Friendly Products ECOS Dishmate Dish Liquid, Almond
I researched the best dish liquids and love this one – it’s eco-friendly and the almond smell is heavenly!
- Don’t smoke.
- Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables (organic whenever possible)
- Exercise regularly. Go for a walk and get some vitamin D.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
- Drink only in moderation or not at all.
- Get enough sleep.
- Avoid infection by washing your hands often and not touching your nose, mouth, or eyes
- Avoid stress and anxiety
Try to not stress out about this virus — anxiety and constant stress drains the immune system and can cause your body to be susceptible to illness. So you are doing yourself a huge favor by keeping things in perspective.
If you are finding it really challenging to turn off the worry about getting sick, try Boiron Rescue Remedy — my surefire natural remedy for fighting anxiety and stress. This does not replace anxiety or depression medication. I’m not a person who has a lot of anxiety, so this works fine for me.
Here is a whole post I wrote about Rescue Remedy.
I hope all these tips will help you boost your immune system the natural way.
Wishing you good health!
