I made unique DIY fridge magnets by reusing a pretty postcard — this project only takes a few minutes! Create these pretty handmade magnets for yourself or as a gift.
A few weeks ago, we received this pretty card in the mail from an art gallery.

Instead of throwing out the junk mail card, I upcycled it and made a little gift for a friend out of it.
The six pretty feather pictures were the perfect size and thickness to make handmade fridge magnets out of it.
DIY Fridge Magnets Made With Junk Mail
I like repurposing and recycling things whenever I can.
I’ve used newspaper to wrap gifts, I’ve repurposed vintage book pages to decoupage onto a table, and made a Valentine’s Day banner out of playing cards.
So why not upcycle junk mail, right?
You could make refrigerator magnets with any junk mail or postcard or pictures from old calendars.
DIY Fridge Magnet Supplies:
- junk mail, postcard, calendar, or similar
- magnet cards with adhesive
- scissors
Cut the junk mail into the size you desire.
I bought business card-sized magnetic cards that were already a pretty good size for the little pictures. Adjust your magnets to your own needs.
I decided to make the magnet a bit smaller than the picture.
Remove the cover of the adhesive and press it onto the back of your picture.
There you are: six pretty DIY refridgerator magnets made with minimal effort, just scissors and adhesive magnet cards.
This is what they looked like on our fridge before I gift-wrapped them for a friend who loves feathers.
I wrapped the six magnets together with ribbon, added a little makeup bag, a card, and wrapped them in a cellophane bag.
I also added a little feather charm.
It was a lot of fun to make these magnets, and my friend really appreciated that I made her a handmade gift.
Pin this fun DIY project for later!
