I have been wanting to make something else with an embroidery hoop since I created the gallery wall with embroidery hoops in my office and stumbled upon a lot of cute ideas with these hoops on Pinterest.
Thinking about the supplies I had at home, I came up with an easy DIY wall decor project anyone can make in minutes, and this would also make a lovely Christmas gift.
My hoop ended up with a Christmas theme, but you can make it any theme you want and personalize it for the person you are making this for as a present.

DIY Embroidery Hoop Gift
This is all you need:
DIY Embroidery Hoop Gift or Decor Supplies:
- small or large embroidery hoop
- wide ribbon and/or skinny ribbon
- ornament (I think these tin angels are adorable!)
or these rustic tin stars
- optional: fake or real greenery
You could combine any ornament, ribbon, and pictures — really anything goes!
Let your creativity be your guide. My design should just serve as inspiration.
When I pulled together my supplies, bells ended up being the theme: I had a vintage bell and vintage ornament that has tiny bells on it, plus a little picture of a bell.
All I had to do was to put a piece of the ribbon in between the hoops and secure it, and then I added the bell picture with a glue dot to the ribbon.
Next, I put the skinny red ribbon through the bell and the ornament, and secured them with a knot.
After I put the embroidery hoop in the middle of the skinny ribbon and made another knot, I added a couple of glue dots to the fake leaves to secure them to the top of the bell and ornament.
I took another glue dot to add one fake berry to the middle of the leaves, and then my DIY embroidery hoop gift was ready to be hung!
I added it to a rustic-shabby chic mirror in our living room with the help of a clear mini Command hook.
They come in handy all over our house, especially during Christmas time.
Depending on the supplies you have, you could play around with the placement of the wide ribbon — maybe you’d rather put it right in the middle, for example.
You could wrap ribbon around the whole hoop, you could use fabric or part of an old sweater on the inside of the whole hoop instead of just the ribbon, the possibilities are obviously endless.
This DIY embroidery hoop gift was a lot of fun to put together.
