Today was a beautiful Sunday in the Hudson Valley! And I had a great time checking out Hastings-on-Hudson and the Hastings Flea.
Hastings-on-Hudson and the Hastings Flea
A few months ago, Ilana contacted me and told me about the Hastings Flea — a fun fleamarket she organizes in one of the Hudson River towns, Hastings-on-Hudson.
Today was the perfect day to check it out. I had never been to Hastings-on-Hudson before, and it’s only 40 minutes away from Katonah.
Hastings Flea happens every second Sunday from April-November, 10-4pm.
It showcases the Hudson Valley’s incredible talent and taste — the best artists, vintage furniture and clothing collectors, handmade jewelry, and craft makers.
I found several vintage treasures to bring home. Try to guess which ones I bought and see if you were correct!
I picked up a map of Hastings at the flea market and saw that there are many coffeehouses and stores just two blocks away from it, so I walked up the hill to get to that area.
I was looking for the diner and found this: Suburban Renewal — two stories full of vintage items and antiques!
Just across the street is Chelsea Dry Goods.
It was closed, but I can tell it’s my kind of store just from looking into the windows!
Then I found the diner — it’s just a few doors down from Urban Renewal — and had coffee and a baked potato with broccoli for only $6.55. That’s a total bargain here in Westchester.
I’ll definitely visit Hastings-on-Hudson and the Hastings Flea again — and the next time I’ll bring my two men. They missed out on all the fun in this charming river town! But they had their own fun: they went to hit golf balls.
What do you think I bought? Let’s see if you
