I’m sharing a thrifty treasure I bought a while ago, and a new one from today.
Weimar Porzellan Vase
I forget where and when I bought this pretty vase from Germany, it must have been at a tag sale, but I’m using it for the first time in the Blue Cottage.
It was made in East Germany, in the German Democratic Republic, when Germany was divided, so it’s definitely vintage and a little part of history. It has a 24kt gold trim and is signed with “Weimar Porzellan.”
I really like its shabby chic look.
The little bunnies looking out of the basket are a find from today. They are a little kitschy, but I think they are adorable, and for $1 I couldn’t resist.
There are two more bunnies looking out of the back, and this figurine opens up to reveal a little candle.
I haven’t decorated for Easter yet, all of those decorations are still in the attic, but this is a little start and a nudge for spring to finally appear.
Come to think of it, today was the first warm day in weeks, it was lovely, so maybe it worked!
