A couple of weeks ago I had a few hours to kill in White Plains, and I treated myself to a trip to Anthropologie.
I’m sure you know about Anthropologie, but if you don’t, you are missing out. They are selling clothing, jewelry, and all kinds of home decor.
I’m not a mall person, but I drove to the Westchester mall just for this one store.
Looking at all of their beautiful things is my kind of heaven — their eclectic mix of pretty and vintage-inspired home decor is so lovely, it instantly makes me happy and inspires me.
I took so many pictures during my visit, I made the store manager jumpy. I figured I’d share them with you like I have before in this post.
And since we are all wondering what to get our family and friends for Christmas or Hanukkah, I’ll share with you my favorite picks of Anthropologie items that would make impressive and unique gifts.
Anthropologie sells clothing and jewelry, but I’m mostly interested in their beautifully styled vignettes and displays, and their home decor items.
I would love to be a stylist for Anthropologie, or the person who sources their vintage and quirky items for their store displays. They are always innovative, beautiful, and surprising.
How cool is this “chandelier” idea?
I usually head straight to their home decor section. They have so many items I love that I usually end up not buying much because I just can’t make up my mind — and because they are pretty pricey.
I adore so many of their drawer pulls that it would be easier to tell you which two I would not buy. And wouldn’t it be awesome to have a DIY room with a storage unit like this for all kinds of little items? What a dream.
Once I spend 20 minutes not being able to decide which drawer pulls to buy and take a few pictures of them, I move on to look at their dishes.
Again, there are so many pretty choices. It’s just always so hard for me to justify $14+ for one plate when I know where to score pretty plates for $1.
Aren’t these bee plates the cutest?
We have a storage bench in front of our bed, which comes in handy, but I love this cart at the end of the bed. Interesting headboard, right?
Anthropologie Gift Ideas
Interior Design and Cooking Books
Anthropologie always carries a beautiful selection of coffee table, home decor, and cooking books. This book about “Design Bloggers at Home” obviously caught my eye! Hello, can I be in the second edition?
“The Kinfolk Table” is an intriguing cookbook with 85 recipes.
“Remodelista: A Manual for the Considered Home” is a stunning book for any interior design enthusiast.
When I saw this cup, I fell in love with it — the shape, the funky, vintage design, and…
… the little surprise bee. I ended up buying one for myself.
These stoneware monogram mugs are a classic and at only $8 really affordable. They make great gift for men and women, bosses and teachers.
Here is an idea: add these pretty marshmallows to a cup, have them wrap both in their beautiful wrapping paper and bag, and you have an impressive little gift anyone would enjoy.
My mom is the queen of marshmallows, and I bought a couple of these for her. They’ll be flying to Germany.
Library Letter — Monogram Book
Don and I love books and these monogram books caught my attention right away. What a cool way to upcycle books! Someone has the job to source old books for these letters, how cool.
These used to be my initials.
And these are my initials now. And after hemming and hawing over it, I bought the B for our living room.
Definitely check out Anthropologie for beautiful holiday and birthday gifts!
