Taking a NY Kids Club Class in NYC
A couple weeks ago, Landon and I were invited to try out the New York Kids Club.
It is New York’s premier children’s enrichment center renowned for its creative and innovative classes, camps and birthday parties.
Landon and I always have so much fun when we take the train into the city for these kinds of events, so I said sure, we’ll come.
The NY Kids Club has six NYC locations where they offer classes like ballet, cooking, dance, fitness and art classes. We sampled the Musical Tots, Infant Milestones, and Cuentos Musica y Arte classes.
Musical Tots
An educational music class featuring classical music, jazz, rock and nursery rhymes in a fun, upbeat environment. A professional guitarist and talented singer lead group activities and sing-alongs as your young musician is exposed to new rhythm patterns, melodies and a diversity of percussion instruments.
Infant Milestones
A class designed to support the natural patterns of development in infants, fostering growth through music, movement, massage, gentle stretching, and tummy time. Original songs, developmentally appropriate props, and both energizing and calming infant massage techniques are used each week to stimulate auditory, visual, and physical growth. Nurturing instructors facilitate each class. 2-5 months.
Cuentos Musica y Arte
Rooted in thematic age-appropriate lessons, this class immerses children in the Spanish language through music, story, art, and play. The enthusiastic native speaking instructors will introduce a number, a letter, a shape, and an animal every class.
After the classes, Landon and the other kids got to run around during free play, and after seeing the gymnasts during the Olympics, he was thrilled to try out the balance beam.
We had a fun time, and any little child would love these classes. I took Landon to similar classes when he was little and he still remembers them fondly.
Guess who got the taxi first to get back to Grand Central station :)
