I was looking for simple Thanksgiving decorating ideas for my Blue Cottage, and Pinterest is usually the first place I go for inspiration. Here are my favorite easy decor ideas for Thanksgiving and fall.
What did we ever do before Pinterest, right?
I used to rip pages out of decorating magazines all the time, and I still have them all in boxes and folders, but now they just collect dust, and I pin everything to my many Pinterest boards.
These are my favorite easy Thanksgiving decorating ideas. They don’t cost much, don’t take long to create, but definitely looks beautiful.
Simple Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas
I love this rustic idea of using acorns and leaves. Just picks some up from outside, or have the kids go on a treasure hunt for them!

For a more glamorous look, replace some of the acorns with fake large pearls and wrap a piece of velvet ribbon around the napkins.
Thanksgiving decor doesn’t have to include the color orange or red as you can see here. I decorated my stone fireplace with rustic decor that included a lot of brown, silver, and green.
Here is a simple fall and Thanksgiving tablescape with pears and, other fruit like figs, and pumpkins. I absolutely love the pop of colors from nature.
Creating this metallic pumpkin with foil tape only takes a minute – and you could make several for a pretty tablescape.
This is a pretty Thanksgiving centerpiece of candles and pumpkins on a board. You could use a cutting board or a large platter you already own.
Just make sure the candle fire is nowhere near something that can catch fire when the candles burn down. My solution for this is using tea lights in little glasses.
Better yet — buy flameless candles. I have bought several sets of these because you just don’t ever have to worry about them.
I love the idea of adding words like Grateful or Blessed on leaves or little tags to small pumpkins or pears.
Why not make your own “I am thankful for” list you can add to every plate?
This idea is actually really cute for any gathering, don’t you think? I’ve done something similar for one of my Christmas tablescapes.
Do you feel inspired to try out one or more of these ideas? Which one is your favorite?
These two little critters and I are wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving! You can buy cards with this picture on Amazon.

Hi Dagmar,
Great ideas here. Always loves those tiny white pumpkins, they are so cute, and liked
them all, but really liked the last one I think it was with the printed card that said about being thankful and giving, The gold leaf was pretty too, I did something like that before
but glittered my leaves.
Hope this finds you doing well.
Blessings, Nellie
