My Thrifty Treasure: Iron Fireplace Mantle

Since I spent hours there for two days, I had time to really get a good look at everything in the barns.

antiques at Barn at Sundial Farm, Ossining, NYThere were so many things I had my eyes on that I took picture so I would remember them. I think these vintage glass bowls are so sweet.

antiques at Barn at Sundial Farm, Ossining, NYDiane just decided to sell her collection of antique linens she meticulously cleaned and ironed herself. This table cloth is the one I love the most.

…and so is this one, don’t you think?

And I really like these mirrored old windows. We have a few of them in my childhood home.

antiques at Barn at Sundial Farm, Ossining, NYAnd finally, this is the treasure I drove home with: it’s an antique iron fireplace mantle. It needs some help, but I just love it.

You know that feeling when you find something special that maybe might not make sense to buy but you know you’ll regret it if you don’t? Yep, this is one of those instances: I bought (actually bartered) a rusty old iron fireplace mantle for $95 and I just know I’ll find the perfect place for it in our home.
