I’m helping Tilly Foster Farm Museum with their social media presence, but when Meredith Whipple, the proprietor of this wonderful farm, told me that they have a 2,000 sq ft apartment for rent for only $1,500 plus utilities, I just had to see it.
Four bedroom, three bathrooms, large living room, fireplace, AC, wood floors throughout, tons of built-in storage, ample parking… That is an amazing deal around here.
So I took a drive to see it yesterday.
Wouldn’t you like to live here? I would in a second. Plus, what a wonderful place to have as a playground for L.
I had a gut feeling before I even saw it, but sure enough, I fell in love with the apartment, and you’ll see why.
But it’s out of the question for us. So I want someone else to get it who will appreciate it’s vintage charm.
The apartment is upstairs, and this is the front entrance.
I love this entry hall! Look at that ceiling. And there is so much storage space.
When you walk up, you can see into the living room, and there is a bedroom to the right with a little ensuite bathroom.
Every room has charming built-ins. This room would be perfect for an office.
This is the bedroom to the right, with a large ensuite bathroom. You can see the linen closet in the hallway.
I think the bathroom is cute; you’d just have to embrace that baby blue. Or you just repaint it.
This is the view walking into the living room. To the right is this beautiful fireplace…
…and more built-ins on the left. The ceilings are very high in this room. This room will look stunning once it’s furnished.
And this is the view out of the large windows:
This is the little kitchen. My dream kitchen would look like this, but I could make due with this one, considering there is so much living space.
Meredith had a great idea: put an island outside of the kitchen and use that for prep and more storage.
The electric range is old but works just fine.
Off to the right of the kitchen are two more bedrooms and one little bathroom.
I’d let L have those two rooms — one as a bedroom and the other as a big playroom. And he would even have his own bathroom. Or two kids could have their own rooms.
This is the side entrance/exit of the apartment, closer to the parking lot.
The view when you leave via the front entrance.
Do you know anyone who is looking for an apartment in or near Brewster, NY?
Brewster is in Putnam County but very close to North Westchester and Connecticut. You can be in Katonah in 15 minutes, and in Danbury in 5 minutes.
For more information or to see the apartment, please call Meredith at 808-286-5547.
And if you would like to be a vendor for the Tilly Foster Farm Craft Fair December 8 – spaces inside the beautiful Lodge are only $20, I’m planning to be there with my candles — also contact Meredith.
