I love decorating for fall and Halloween — but let’s be real, I’m too busy to do anything elaborate.
I like decorating projects that only take a few minutes and don’t cost much.
We all want to create a cozy home for our family and impress guests, so for this post I picked out some awesome and easy DIY Halloween decorations ideas we all can recreate in minutes.

Toilet Paper Halloween Characters and Wood Stick Spider Webs
Decorate toilet paper rolls with washi tape or other craft supplies you have on hand.
Simple wood sticks and some yarn can transform into DIY spider webs.
Pickled Cauliflower Brains
Take a cauliflower head, add it to wide-mouth glass jar, and add mostly water to it.
Then create a sign for it: Pickled Brains!
To make the water a bit brown, simply make black tea, let it cool, and then add it to the jar. Maybe adding soda would also work?
You can certainly also use smaller jars that you already have or reuse pickle jars or mason jars.
Just add smaller pieces of cauliflower and the brown water to it — that’s still going to look kind of creepy.

Add Baby Pumpkins to the Corners of Your Tablecloth
Gathered the corners of your tablecloth to add little pumpkins by their stem with some twine. They’ll make a cute addition to your Halloween decor. You could draw faces on them with a Sharpie pen.
Fanged Vampire Pumpkins
What about fanged vampire pumpkins? Make sure you cut out the hole from the pumpkin yourself — but your kids can be the ones who add the plastic vampire fangs.
You can use white push pins for the eyes and draw a black dot for the pupils, or use googly eyes.
I really like this set in a box with all kinds of sizes of googly eyes.

Or what about adding the teeth on the outside of the pumpkins with a glue gun, with the mouth open? Then you don’t even need to cut into the pumpkins.
Plastic Vampire Teeth Place Cards
Another clever idea to do with plastic vampire fangs: use them to hold place cards for your Hsalloween table setting! I’d use the white ones, but you can also buy them in neon colors.
Toilet Paper Roll Spooky Eyes
One of the most ingenious ideas for Halloween: just cut eyes into toilet paper rolls, put glow sticks into them, and hide them in the bushes outside. Creepy! Buy them here.
Halloween Printable
Don’t have time for a DIY Halloween decorations project?
Then printables are a great option. Just go on Pinterest or google “free Halloween printable,” print out your favorite, and frame it for inexpensive Halloween art.
Jack-O’-Lantern Jars
Reuse jars, paint them on the inside (either use spray paint or add paint, close the jar and shake it so the paint gets all over it on the outside), decorate a face on the outside with permanent markers and you’ll get this sweet Halloween decor for candy storage.
Even easier: instead of painting the jars, draw a face on orange paper with black marker, add the orange paper to the inside of the jars, and you’ve got your jar jack-o’-lantern.
Mice on the Stairs
Find a template of a mouse or rat cutout, cut them out of black cardstock, and glue them to your stairs or baseboards.
I think it’s even a cute idea to hide just a few of these paper mic eor rats all over the house.
Have the kids help you cut them out, or here are mice stickers you can buy.
Milk Jug Ghosts
This idea thrills me because it reuses milk jugs: cut off the top part to get a wider opening, have the kids decorate them with faces, and then light them up by simply adding battery-operated tea lights.
You could also cut holes into the sides of them and thread a string of Christmas lights through them.
Or spread them out and add glow sticks.
No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating With Washi Tape
Carving a pumpkin is such a mess and takes time — decorating them with Halloween-themed or black washi tape is so much easier!
