My New Thrifty Treasures: Vintage Wooden Bucket and Tin

by Dagmar Bleasdale on August 20, 2012

old wooden bucketAfter breakfast at Panera Bread with Landon and Don last Sunday, I snuck away to an antiques and collectibles sale in Yorktown while they played at the town’s track field and playground.

I had read about the sale in the paper and was looking forward to going to it for days.

antique and collectibles saleThere were only a few tables full of things, but I did find some thrifty treasures. The first thing that caught my eye was this wooden bucket, and after talking the seller down to $20 (instead of $25), it was coming home with me.

I also found this tiny bell for my mom’s bell collection.

little vintage bellI was interested in these vintage wooden spools, but they are more decorative than useful (the bucket now holds magazines in our living room!) so I didn’t buy them.

What great finds. I cannot believe that you found a trunk for $5.00. That is an amazing thrift score!
