10 DIY Beds, Sofas, and More You Can Make Out of Pallets

by Dagmar Bleasdale on June 29, 2012

I’m really into recycling and upcycling, and I’ve been saving picture of cool things you can make out of shipping pallets to my “recycling” Pinterest board for a while.

I wanted to post this before flying to Type-A Parent Conference and moderating the Green Bloggers session, but there was just no time.

So here it is now, and I hope you enjoy it! Seeing all these projects makes me want to get my own pallet day bed. My finish carpenter husband better watch out before I reel him into making one for us…

Pallet beds:

Plant display on a painted pallet:

Pallet sofas and benches:

Pallet shelves:

And a colorful pallet coat rack:

Amazing ideas, right? And making these pallet furniture and home decor items costs almost nothing.

Which one is your favorite?

Do you follow me on Pinterest? I have 63 boards full of inspirations and want to discover yours, so let’s follow each other!

Here is a tip I just learned at Typeacon: if you only follow select Pinterest boards of someone, you don’t show up in their follower count. So I’ll be following all boards of someone from now on.

LOVE some of these ideas. We just moved and I’ve been looking at some really neat ideas using wood pallets. Have you come across the Corner Reading Nook thing? We’re trying to figure out a way to make it work as a toddler bed.

The coat rack is totally my favorite! Love the idea of painting it and turning it into something beautiful.
