We spent a few wonderful hours at the Bear Mountain Park today.
It’s about 45 minutes away from us across the Hudson River, and we hadn’t been there in 2 1/2 years. It took me a while, but I did find a picture from that visit. How little Landon was!
The park offers everything you could want for a fun family outing: a lake, a playground, a huge grass area for soccer games and picnic, hiking trails, and a merry-go-round.
Just across the street is the Bear Mountain Zoo and Bear Mountain Pool.
The Bear Mountain Inn was finally reopened after years of renovations, and it offers a small restaurant and gift store.
That building in the middle houses the merry-go-round.
One ride costs $1, and Landon rode on it five times. It’s the most beautiful merry-go-round I’ve ever seen, with many hand-painted scenes of the Park and 42 hand-carved native animals.
If you live near Bear Mountain Park In Orange County, NY, definitely make a point to visit it with your kids. We had a blast.
