I did not buy Landon a huge chocolate cake piece before we boarded the plane to Hamburg.
I did not let Landon lie on the yucky airplane floor for a few minutes in the hope that he would fall asleep there. I had a hard time to convince him that he needed to sleep — at least the last hour of our transatlantic flight. He finally did fall asleep in my lap.
We do not have a surprising heatwave in Germany since we arrived. And no one has AC here. Landon does not spend the whole day either running around naked or jumping through the sprinkler.
I do not eat German Mohnkuchen (poppy seed streusel cake) every day of our Germany visit.
I’m not falling asleep while I’m writing this post — the heat, running after and cosleeping with a sweaty little boy, and jet lag are working against me.
It was not my father’s 84. birthday today and we did not celebrate with my brother, his girlfriend, and 20 of my parent’s closest friends all day in the garden of my childhood home.
