Our First Trip to Nantucket: Day 1

by Dagmar on June 25, 2010

Four kids in a van, a five-hour drive (without air-conditioning, and it was HOT), then two hours on the ferry — our trip to Nantucket went pretty well, considering.

Landon took a nap in the car just when he was ready to have a melt-down about being strapped in, and the kids had a blast on the ferry.

The five-bedroom house we are renting here is beautiful and I can actually enjoy some time with the adults because Landon just keeps running from room to room with his cousin James.

This is Landon running around with his cousin’s night goggles:

After settling in last night we met up with other family members and went to the Lobster Trap for dinner.

We were about 10 adults and 10 kids. After that we walked to the “Juice Bar” and I had the best home-made ice cream I’ve ever had — I just HAD to try cake batter ice cream. Divine!

Tomorrow will be the wedding of my nephew Luke and his lovely bride Jenn at the beach. We will be about 170 people who made the trip out to Nantucket. I took so many great pictures, I’ll post more when I have a minute…

Enjoy your weekend!
