Looking for something fun, free, and healthy to do with your children in Westchester, New York?
We have gone to Muscoot Farm many times before, since it is very close to our house and a great place for kids, but yesterday we took advantage of their hiking trails for the first time.
The weather was just so beautiful, almost summer-like, so I wanted to do something fun outside.
You are able to push your stroller on the trails, and kids age 3 and older can walk themselves.
It took us about 45 minutes to walk the whole trail, but we took frequent stops to look at a pond, ran around in a very large field, and took a break at the gazebo.
After running a lot, Landon got to the gazebo and plunked himself down. It was pretty warm and he was hot! See the red cheeks?
We loved the trail. It’s just the right length for smaller kids and there is plenty to see for them to not get bored. Next time I want to prepare a nice picnic and eat it on the top in the gazebo.
On the way back, L got several short rides on Daddy’s shoulders because otherwise we would still be at Muscoot. L just loves that place so much.
Of course my little breastfeeding boy would be trying to get the milk out this way :) He said: “I’m a baby cow!”
L was ready for a nap after so much exploring and running around in the sun.
If you have never been to Muscoot Farm before, check it out! They host free, fun events for kids all the time — take a look at their calendar. And please say hi if you see us there.
