Christopher Robertson, David Mathison, Heather Flournoy
I haven’t had time to write about the Tweetup I attended at a Katonah coffee shop last week. If you know me at all, you know I am addicted to Twitter (yes, I tweeted almost 3,000 times in six months) and social media, and also love coffeehouses, so there was nothing that would have stopped me from meeting fellow Tweets/Twitterers/Tweeters face-to-face for an informative morning.
The Tweetup was hosted by Heather Flournoy from Katonah Green and featured the charming David Mathison and his book Be The Media. He self-published this “independent media handbook” so you can only buy it directly from him (smart man!). David is now a sought-after speaker, but he offers 15 minutes of his time on the phone with every book he sells. That is an amazing offer I can’t wait to take advantage of.
You can see a snippet of David’s talk here. I am reading Be The Media right now and can’t put it down. This is a must-read and resource for anyone who has a message/product he or she wants to get to as many people as possible (artist, company, blogger, etc.).
David shows you in detail how you can use social media to your advantage, no matter how small your company or little your budget. This is a great resource and gift for anyone who is interested in taking advantage of social media.
Just click on the book cover to get to David’s website. Take a look — he gives away the introduction to the first part of the book for free.

I wrote an extended article about the book, here is the link.

Sorry I missed this. I went to a great tweetup at Pour in Mt. Kisco last month, can’t wait for the next.
