It’s time to pack. I just edited the last few articles for THE magazine, then I might pack a little more before going to bed next to Landon, who has been sleeping for a few hours. We are sleeping in my childhood bed, which is tiny, in my old room. Landon and I will visit my friend Katrin and her two little boys for breakfast tomorrow, then we’ll take a nap (we nap a lot here in Germany, we are tired from eating so much good food!), and get ready to head to Hamburg. My mother and L and I will stay at an airport hotel for one night because we are leaving so early for New York. I hope Landon is going to be a good little boy again on the plane, my little travel buddy. This is the fourth or fifth time we’ve made/survived this trip.
It was another great trip, but I am looking forward to our life in Westchester, and of course seeing Don and the Bleasdale clan. Since our neighbors are moving, and with it Landon’s wonderful babysitter Antoinette, I enrolled him in preschool for 7,5 hours/three days a week at a new preschool around the corner. We’ll see how it goes. If he doesn’t like it, or is sick all the time all of a sudden, I’m going to take him out. The building is brand new, and I am really concerned about all the outgassing of that building. I spoke to the owner about the fact that all the new materials and furniture will outgas for quite a while and that it is very important to open the window to let in fresh air, but I am not convinced that this will happen. People are so proud of their air tight/air-conditioned houses, they don’t even realize how toxic the air is they breathe.
Do you want to know what L is so fascinated with here? I’ll post the corresponding picture in New York!

You’ll hear from me when we are back!
