I was approached by the makers of Karito Kids dolls, KidsGive LLC, to review two of their “Word Collection” dolls. The word “Karito” means “charity” and “love of one’s neighbor” in Esperanto. Karito Kids highlights the beauty of each ethnic group and depicts modern-day life in each country and culture, showing children the similarities shared by kids around the world.
Every one of these tall, beautifully crafted dolls comes with the cutest outfit, a passport, and a book that tells a fun story involving that girl. I received Zoe and Gia. Zoe, a blonde little girl, lives in New York City. Her little clothes are adorable, and these dolls are so detailed and life-like, she even wears underwear under her tights! Gia, a little fashion diva, lives in Florence, Italy, and her book tells kids about her adventure of living in an inn.
When we received the dolls, I let Landon choose which one he wanted to keep and which one we are going to give away. He chose Zoe, the little blonde girl, and started playing with her right away, making her a bed. He loves her tiny sneakers and gloves.

Aside from these dolls being beautiful, I love what the company stands for. Every Karito product comes with its own special code so children can visit karitokids.com, enter the code, and direct 3 percent of the suggested retail price to their favorite cause within the children’s charity, Plan, a nonprofit that aids over 10 million children. Children will receive school books, medical care, or get to live in a safe home. Also, the dolls are made from phthalate-free vinyl and have a soft torso for great hugs! These dolls are recommended for age 6 and over.
Take a look at all the Karioto Kids: Lulu, Wan Ling, Pita, Piper, Zoe, and Gia. There is also a line of five “Travel Charmers Soft Dolls” for younger kids, accessories and additional outfits, and bracelets.
Win Gia!
One lucky reader will win the Gia doll and book (retail price $99!). How cute are those boots?!

I heard about these dolls a little over a year ago and thought they were a great idea. These are a great way to teach children about different cultures and it is nice to have “role model” type dolls for them to play with. Gia is my first choice of doll for my daughter, mostly because I am Italian and the boots are adorable!
