Hello!
So, it is official, after much research I have finally started my own blog, DagmarBleasdale.com. (I could not have done it without my trusted friend Joel!). Bear with me as I am learning to navigate this new tool that I want to use to share my thoughts on first-time mommyhood, working from home, and much more!
Inspired to start your own blog? I want to share an article that really got me exited about blogging by Steve Pavlina that might interest you as well. This article is rather long but filled with amazing information and links. Steve explains in detail why he monetized his blog, and why one shouldn’t be shy about wanting to make a living with blogging. My blog really got off the ground because of the invaluable information I received from this article. Thank you, Steve Pavlina!
I am a writer, proofreader and editor, and like Steve, I believe in giving my readers something valuable to read. Like him, I also believe in being compensated for my work and time, like anyone would who does a decent job at what they do. Steve makes most of his income from donations, which is amazing and just shows you how much people appreciate his writing — so much so that they get out their credit card and send him money.
With this blog, I want to provide a service to my readers by writing entertaining, information-packed, researched articles. There will be the occasional post that is pure entertainment, but I hope to at least make you smile with those entries!
Steve makes a very nice living sharing his talent for writing well-written, timely articles, and I would be happy to just make a decent living with my blogging so I can stay home with my son. That’s my goal and I am not ashamed to be open about it. I can already tell that I will spent hundreds of hours working on this blog — mostly in the middle of the night when my two men are sleeping — and it would be nice if I could inspire some people to actually pay me for my efforts.
Please help me with this goal by actively participating in this blog. I am writing it for all of you to enjoy, and my hope is that maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two from my experiences. I want to make your life easier by telling you what worked for me, be it about natural birth, homeopathy, green living, breastfeeding, parenting, or motherhood in general. And like Steve, I want to inspire you to pursue your dreams — I am pursuing my dream of having a well-received, successful blog, as you can see :)

Thank you so very much for posting this! I’ve been going in circles about blogging for 7 months until I read this. I’m planning on blogging in Spanish starting in January and was running out of time preparing.
